Clinical Policies

Professional supervision

To maintain high standards of practice, I participate in regular professional supervision.

In supervision, aspects of clinical work may be discussed with a qualified supervising psychologist in a professional and confidential setting. Identifying information is minimised wherever possible.

Limits of confidentiality

Confidentiality may be broken in rare situations where there is:

  • serious risk of harm to yourself

  • serious risk of harm to another person

  • safeguarding concerns involving a child or vulnerable adult

  • a legal requirement such as a court order

Where possible, this would be discussed with you first.

Crisis support

This practice provides scheduled outpatient therapy and is not a crisis or emergency service.

If you require urgent mental health support, you should contact your GP, NHS 111 or emergency services.

Suitability of service

Suitability for therapy will normally be explored during the initial consultation.

This service is not intended for individuals requiring intensive psychiatric care, emergency intervention, or ongoing crisis support. If it becomes clear that a different type of service would be more appropriate, this will be discussed openly.
